Well, I figure it is time to get down to the main portion of a holiday meal with this week’s Holiday edition of Cyber Tuesday. I will be surfing the net for both side dishes and main dishes (meats and such) this week so I’ll be giving you five extra links (woohoo!). If anyone has any suggestions or your favorite sides or main dish recipes that you’d like to share please do!!
Happy Holidays!!
1. Green Bean Casserole: Not Like Mom’s – Love green beans, love green bean casseroles…LOVE BACON!!! That’s right folks, this is the most unique green bean casserole recipe that I’ve seen and it looks amazing!!! Definitely not like your mom’s (no offense moms!).
2. Gruyere Cheese & Potato Gratin – This is our fabulous recipe. It’s light but rich at the same time, if that makes any sense. Relatively easy to make and delicious to eat. (Check out this great tip that my mom-in-law sent me a few days ago)
3. Twice Baked Potatoes with Shiitake Mushrooms – A delicious and elegant spin on your typical twice baked potatoes, the shiitake mushrooms are sure to add a unique flavor and texture. Yum yum yum!
4. Sautéed Mushrooms, Carrots and Zucchini – A simple recipe that is sure to please anyone and everyone at your Holiday get-together.
5. Couscous with Green Beans and Feta – We had couscous last night and I had really forgotten how delicious it was! So here we are with me suggesting a couscous recipe for your Holiday get-together. Tasty!
6. Chili Rubbed Pork Tenderloin with Apricot-Ginger Glaze – Does this not sound absolutely amazing!?! As soon as I mentioned this recipe to Brady he totally flipped out and wanted to make it immediately. We might give it a try while we are off work in the next few weeks. It would certainly work quite well as a new and unique meat dish for a Holiday dinner!
7. Chicken with Creamy Marsala Sauce – Another great option for a variation on your typical ham or turkey Holiday dinner. This Chicken Marsala recipe looks amazing and the pictures are phenomenal. Check it out!
8. Scallops with Roasted Chili Paste – For a great oceanic alternative
for your Holiday meal you should definitely check out these scallops. Delicious! Looks to me like they would work well for your meal in a few ways: as an appetizer, served as a main course alone, or served alongside a steak as a “surf and turf” type meal.
9. Baked Bourbon Glazed Ham – I had to include at least one ham recipe just cause I LOVE HAM. This recipe looks really great but a little time-consuming – I’m sure that the end product is worth any hassle you might encounter though!!
10. Pollo al Vino – Chicken with Wine…can’t get any better than that! This recipe looks simple and satisfying. Also perfect for making a smaller Holiday meal.
Enjoy!
