- Have a stress-free dinner party! Do as much of the preparation as you can in advance. Also do not be afraid to use convenient, store-bought, prepared ingredients if they do not alter the taste and/or quality of the dish. Remember to breathe and enjoy yourself!
- Have water, juice and sodas around! Even if you are having a cocktail or beer party be sure to have non-alcoholic drinks available for designated drivers and/or others who would like a break from alcoholic beverages.
- As guests start arriving, no matter if you are busy with preparations in the kitchen or not, you should greet them at the door with a smile and offer to take coats and serve beverages. Happy and welcomed guests will make for a wonderful mood and flow at your party!
- As you are serving up various dishes at your party be sure to announce to guests what each dish is as well as a few of the ingredients. Guests enjoy knowing what they are eating and this adds certain sophistication to the party atmosphere.
- If you want your guests to bring a contribution (food or beverage) to the party be sure to make them aware of this on their invitation and/or way ahead of time. Remember to be specific!
- Along these same lines, if there is a preferred dress code for your party this information should be given with the invitation as well.
- A great way to display a dinner or drink menu at a party is to put it in a decorative picture frame and set it out for guests to view.
